Thai dialogue practice
Eight conversations covering the situations you actually meet in your first days. Listen to the whole exchange, then take it line by line and swap in your own details.
- Meeting someone Introduce yourself, say where you are from, and answer “how are you?” without freezing.
- Ordering food Ask for a table, order, say “not spicy”, and get the bill without pointing at pictures.
- Taking a taxi Give a destination, agree the meter, and ask to stop — the three sentences that stop a detour.
- Checking in Confirm a booking, ask for a late checkout, and sort out the room before you unpack.
- Bargaining at a market Ask the price, react to it politely, and counter-offer without causing offence.
- At the pharmacy Describe a symptom, ask for what you need, and check the dose.
- Getting help fast Call for help, say what happened, and give your location when it matters.
- Asking the way Ask where something is, understand the answer, and confirm you got it right.
